Honey in the comb (Cartridge)

Experience the rare treat of comb honey.  Our bees craft this delicacy directly in the hive in special cartridges know as "Hogg Comb Cartridges". It is a challenge to coax them to draw these out and fill them with honey, and it isn't successful every year.  The resource intense treat requires the equivalent of 12 pounds of honey to produce just one pound of comb, making this a truly special, premium offering that celebrates the artistry of beekeeping and hard work of the bees.

It can be eaten whole, savoring both the golden honey and edible beeswax in every bite, or chew the comb for a bit to extract the honey, then discard the chewed comb.  The choice is yours.  But yes - the wax is edible, and was the favored way to eat honey by old timers back in the day when they would eat it straight from the tree.

Perfect enjoyed as a solo treat, or as an elegant addition to charcuterie boards, it pairs beautifully with cheeses and cured meats.
